CHICKEN BIG MAC WAFFLE π
This high protein twist swaps the bun for a crispy chicken waffle and delivers all the iconic flavours!
Who needs a bun when youβve got a chicken waffle?
Skip the takeaway and level up your meals with crispy, golden waffles made at home using the Breville Smart Waffle four-slice maker. Perfect for high protein, low calorie creations that donβt taste like a compromise.
Ingredients:
200g raw chicken breast
1 egg
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1 burger slice
1/4 cup iceberg lettuce, roughly chopped
1 tbsp brown onion, diced
6 pickle slices
1 tsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp my homemade big mac sauce:
1.5 tbsp mayonaise
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp tomato sauce
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp chopped dill
1 tbsp pickle jar juice
Method:
Boil the chicken breast for 15 minutes, remove and shred with an electric mixer
Combine the chicken breast, egg, paprika, salt and parmesan in a bowl to form the the waffle base
Turn on the non stick Breville Smart Waffle Maker and set to βclassicβ. Place the chicken mixture into 2 squares. Close the lid and set the timer to 10 minutes
Meanwhile, make the big mac sauce with the ingredients listed above
When the chicken waffle is ready, remove and assemble the base with a cheese slice, 1 tbsp big mac sauce, onions, pickles, sesame seeds and the iceberg lettuce.
Spread the remaining big mac sauce on the other waffle and press down onto the lettuce
Cut down the middle and enjoy like a burger!
